How I Use ChatGPT to Save Time (and Brainpower) as a Content Creator
Stuck on what to write? Here’s how I use ChatGPT to brainstorm, write faster, and still sound like me.
📝 Post Body (Edited in your voice):
Hey creators 👋
Let’s be real — creating content takes time. Whether it's writing emails, blog posts, pitching brands, or scripting your next Reel, it can feel like a lot.
That’s why I’ve been using ChatGPT almost daily… and honestly? It’s been a total game changer.
If you’ve been following me, you know I like to keep things personal — and I was definitely skeptical of AI at first. But now? It’s like having a mini creative assistant in my pocket.
Here’s how I use it to save time while still keeping my content authentic and totally in my voice:
💻 1. I ramble into the audio feature
When I know I want to create a longer blog post, email, or voiceover, I’ll literally just open the voice tool and ramble. I explain the idea, how I want it to sound (conversational, SEO-friendly, not robotic), and add any key points I want included.
Then I’ll ask ChatGPT to organize it —
✅ Keep my tone
✅ Make it clear + readable
✅ And add structure for whatever platform I’m writing for
And guess what? It does a pretty amazing job. (Heck, I used it exactly for this post 😉)
✍️ 2. I use it when I’m stuck or burnt out
Even if I only have a vague idea of what I want to say — like “I want to write about UGC contracts” — I’ll just drop that into ChatGPT and ask for possible angles, bullet points, or a rough outline.
It’ll often give me 3–5 usable ideas or starter phrases that get me unstuck.
From there, I either ask it to write a draft or I take over and make it mine.
🧠 3. Be super specific in your prompts
This is KEY:
If you want ChatGPT to write something that sounds like you, you have to tell it exactly what you want.
Examples of things I’ll say:
“Use a friendly, direct tone — not robotic”
“Make it SEO-friendly with headers and a clear CTA”
“Write this as if I’m talking to creators who are just starting out”
“Make it feel like Nancy wrote this” 😉
The more specific you are, the better the result.
⏳ 4. It saves me hours
Since using it, I’ve cut my content creation time in half — and it’s helped me stay consistent, especially when I’m traveling, batching content, or working on my Substack while on the go.
If you’re a creator who’s trying to do it all — this is one tool you should absolutely be using.
Let me know if you found this helpful — and if you want the exact ChatGPT prompts I use to pitch brands, set my rates, and write content that sounds like me… that’ll be in next week’s paid post 👀
